Founder and Executive Director 

Panayiota Bertzikis is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. She founded the Military Rape Crisis Center while still on Active Duty after noticing that the Coast Guard was lacking in resources needed to help Military Sexual Trauma survivors. Panayiota is serving as the Executive Director. She is currently working on building an MRCC office in Arizona hopefully by Spring 2012. Cambridge, MA staff

Melissa O’Brien is the director of Military Rape Crisis Center-Northeast. Melissa is a veteran of the United States Air Force. She started as a volunteer with the Military Rape Crisis Center in 2007. Ashley Young was employed by the United States Army for over 20 years; first as an Active Duty soldier and later as a civilian employee and reserves. She serves as our advocate for all current and former members of the United States Army.Email her at ashley@stopmilitaryrape.org

Washington DC staff

Stacey Tanya: Holds a BA in Government from Harvard University and a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University. She resides in the DC area and spends countless hours lobbying to develop better programs to help military sexual trauma survivors and pass laws to prevent future incidents. She spent a short time in the Coast Guard in the early 1990s where she was raped by her company commander at basic training. stacey@stopmilitaryrape.org

Southeast:Rachel is an Active Duty Marine based out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Rachel experienced sexual harassment and witnessed a sexual assault cover-up during her first deployment in Iraq and vowed to not remain silent about what her brothers and sisters are experiencing.
